The Value of Wine Cellars
If you have ever watched an old classic film set in the Middle Ages there is the occasional scene where there will be a trip down to the wine cellar. Often, the wine cellar is well stocked with a number of vintage brands and the purpose of the scene is designed to show the wealth and taste of the aristocrat who owns the castle. Now, you do not need to have lived in the Middle Ages nor do you need to be an aristocrat in order to understand the value of wine cellars. All you need to do is recognize the inherent value that wine cellars can provide a home.
The Need for Safety and Organization
Imagine if you purchased a huge collection of wine. Would you want it to be stored improperly or in an unsafe location? Would you want bottles of wine to become lost? Now, some may scoff at the notion that bottle of wine could get lost, but it is not such an out of the ballpark possibility. Remember, a major facet to wine cellars is the ability to organize and store wine safely and effectively. If various bottles are spread about the house then the potential for the bottles to become lost or misplaced can occur. Now, would you want that to happen with various valuable and rare bottles? (or any types of wine bottles for that matter?) Of course not! As such, wine cellars serve a valuable and logistical purpose.
The Equity Aspect
One of the additional fringe benefits that wine cellars can provide is that of equity to a home. Yes, there is equity value found in these types of attachments to a cellar! Such an addition to the basement can make a home unique, interesting and attractive to potential buyers and because of this the equity value of such an addition to a basement would be a wonderful choice. No, wine cellars need not be gothic and dark like the one depicted in Edgar Allen Poe's classic short story THE CASK OF AMONTILADO. Instead, they can be unique, bright and upbeat and a joy to look at. So, never discount the value that they may have to offer.
Not All are the Same
Not all wine cellars are cut from the same mold. This is why the designer of the wine cellar should be chosen carefully as a master designer can create a brilliant artistic look. This is true of prefabricated wine cellars as well as custom ones. So, choose wisely and you will be rewarded with a brilliant cellar that will add to your dwelling.
