Temperature Of A Wine Storage System
First of all it is important to know that the average wine bottled today is not stored for considerable amounts of time. This is because wines made today are readily available to meet the demands of the consumer. Therefore, most wines made today can be stored up to a year and not experience any detrimental affects.
However, there are a few basic tips that need to be followed under a wine storage system. The first important step in maintaining the integrity of the wine is to store the wine at a certain temperature. That temperature should range from 55 to 58 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition the wine should be kept out of direct sunlight.
Also, the temperature should remain constant and should not fluctuate more than 5 degrees over any given year of storage. Also, humidity is important. That humidity should range between 50 and 70%.
Position Of The Bottle In A Wine Storage System
One additional process that should be followed when utilizing a wine storage system is how the bottles are stored. A generally accepted method of storing wine is by keeping the wine bottle in a horizontal position. Also, the label of the manufacturer of the wine should be face up.
This horizontal storage is an important aspect of a wine storage system as it decreases the moving about of the sediment contained in the wine. In addition, if ever transporting the wine it is important to maintain the horizontal position of the wine bottle.
